On Wednesday 16 May, a Bill proposed by the Scottish Government to seek, as far as is possible, to limit the likely widespread impact of the UK Welfare Reform Act on the poor and vulnerable in Scotland was recommended for approval in principle.

St Mary’s Primary School in Duntocher, West Dunbartonshire, was victorious in this year's Euroquiz event, held at the Parliament on Monday.
The winning team received the trophy from Deputy Presiding Officer Elaine Smith MSP and John Mulgrew, a Trustee of the Scottish European Educational Trust.
